Polizeizentrum Neubrandenburg
Police Centre
The inviting forecourt of the new Neubrandenburg Police Centre and the adjacent cafeteria form an attractive meeting place for police employees, residents of the neighbouring nursing home and people who work in the Neubrandenburg administrative centre. The compact building creates a police centre with short distances and leaves plenty of room for future extensions and high-quality outdoor spaces.
The four-storey, freestanding building fits well into the existing urban structure as a new type of urban building block, while the inner courtyard provides daylight and orientation. With their direct connection to Kirschenallee, the building, forecourt and inner courtyard make a significant contribution to the redevelopment of the entire area, which previously lacked a spatial concept. The entrance loggia on the north-east corner of the building clearly signals the main entrance towards Neustrelitzer Straße.
A delicate rhythm of pillars and ceilings made of light-coloured brick in several different shades structures the appearance of the multi-layered façade. The recessed parapet panels are made of the same material. The omission of the parapet panels at the ends of the corridors and the change to a double rhythm in the area of the entrances, the café and the assembly hall creates variety and loosens up the regularity.
